History
The Langley Olympians Swim Club was formed in January of 1998 to offer the community of Langley a swim club that would offer swimmers a chance to swim year-round and pursue swimming at its highest level. Abbotsford Olympians Swim Club was formed in Sept 2002 to offer the community of Abbotsford the only year-round swim club in Abbotsford a chance to train and compete year-round. Langley & Abbotsford work closely together in all aspects, from resources, training, coaching, pool time and space, and competing together. L&A OSC offers NCCP professionally certified coaches. We offer progressive instruction in a positive learning environment. L&A OSC teaches life skills that go hand and hand with swimming skills, which develops the whole athlete.
LOSC currently has about 400 members from 5 yrs. old learn to swim up to adult swimmers. We swim out of the Walnut Grove Community Center Pool (50m) and the WC Blair Recreation Center Pool (25m) in Murrayville.
AOSC currently has about 40 members from ages 5 yrs old learning to swim to 16 yrs old development swimmers. AOSC trains out of the Matsqui Recreation Centre (25m).
L&A OSC has become one of the top clubs in BC and Canada thanks to the coaching staff, parents, and of course the swimmers. Having swimmers in the top ranks in BC and in Canada are accomplishments that we are proud of and we will aim to continue our success at the World level. L&A OSC will continue to strive to offer the citizens of Langley and Abbotsford a program that will be quality based and the opportunities for swimmers to become the best they can be.
It is the goal of L&A OSC to have everyone strive for personal excellence and achieve their personal best. L&A OSC swimmers can achieve their dream of going to the Olympics, but we believe that everyone can benefit from the pursuit of excellence, regardless of their level of swimming.
