New Swimmer Assessment

After your swimmer has completed an assessment, please register here. We will then approve them for the appropriate program.

Important:
Registering here does not schedule an assessment. Swimmer must be assessed and approved before registering. If your swimmer has not yet completed an assessment, please do not register them at this time.

Email us at olympiansswimming@gmail.com with your swimmer's name, birthdate, skill level, and preferred location, and we'll be happy to provide more information on our programs and upcoming assessments.

Olympic Way Programs

The Olympic Way programs align with the Sport for Life Long Term Athlete Development Model's Active Start and FUNdamentals stages. 

At these levels we focus on developing basic water skills, stroke technique, and water safety in a fun and supportive environment. Our programs build confidence and create a solid foundation for future progression in the sport.

The levels included in the Olympic Way program includes:

Olympic Way Minis
Target Age: 6 to 7 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: 25m Swim***

Olympic Way Bronze 
Target Age: 6 to 8 Years as of March 15, 2026** 
Ability: 50m Free & Back Swim, 100m Kick with Board, Rhythmic Breathing***

Olympic Way Silver 
Target Age: 7 to 9 Years as of March 15, 2026**
Ability: 25m Fly, Back, Breast, and Free Swim, 4-stroke add-up under 2:00***

Olympic Way Gold 
Target Age: 8 to 10 Years as of March 15, 2026**
Ability: 100m IM under 2:00***

*Olympic Way Minis: While the target age provides general guidance, swimmers aged 5 to 8 years may be considered to accommodate individual differences in growth, development, and experience.

**Olympic Way Bronze, Silver, and Gold: Swimmers aged 6 to 12 years may be considered to accommodate individual differences in growth, development, and experience.

Divisional Development Programs

The Divisional programs align with the Sport for Life Long Term Athlete Development Model's Learning to Train stages.

At this level, we focus on refining foundational skills, building competitive endurance, and introducing race strategies. Our structured programs provide a comprehensive environment for swimmers with a strong competitive spirit, ensuring they are well-prepared for each stage of their competitive journey, starting with regional and divisional competitions.

The levels included in the Divisional program include:

Divisional 4
Target Age: 9 to 10 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Dive start; Legal 200 IM Under 4:00**
Commitment: Sustained Developmental Commitment level

Divisional 5
Target Age: 10 to 12 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Swimmers will be evaluated based on their top three Rudolph Point scoring swims.***
Commitment: Sustained Developmental Commitment level

Divisional 6
Target Age: 11 to 13 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Swimmers will be evaluated based on their top three Rudolph Point scoring swims.***
Commitment: Sustained Developmental Commitment level

Provincial Development Programs

The Provincial programs align with the Sport for Life Long Term Athlete Development Model's Train to Train stage.

At these levels, we focus on optimal training, strategic race execution, and comprehensive athlete development. These structured programs are designed for highly committed swimmers who demonstrate advanced technical proficiency and a strong desire to achieve Provincial qualifying standards and prepare for higher-level competitive success.

The levels included in the Provincial program include:

Provincial 6
Target Age: 11 to 13 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Swimmers will be evaluated based on their top three Rudolph Point scoring swims.**
Commitment: Sustained Advanced Commitment level

Provincial 7
Target Age: 12 to 14 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Swimmers will be evaluated based on their top three Rudolph Point scoring swims.**
Commitment: Sustained Advanced Commitment level

Provincial Development (Dev) Burnaby Only
Target Age: 13 to 18 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Swimmers will be evaluated based on their top three Rudolph Point scoring swims.**
Commitment: Sustained Advanced Commitment level

National Development Programs

The National Development programs align with the Sport for Life Long Term Athlete Development Model's Train to Compete and Compete to Win stages.

At these levels, we offer a highly disciplined training environment with a focus on individualized coaching, advanced training techniques, and sports science. Our coaches work closely with athletes to fine-tune all aspects of performance, including physical conditioning, technical skills, tactical awareness, and mental preparation, guiding them towards elite competitive success at National and potentially international levels.

The levels included in the National Development program include:

National 8
Target Age: 14 and Older as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Swimmers will be evaluated based on their top three Rudolph Point scoring swims.**

National 9
Target Age: 16 and Older as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Swimmers will be evaluated based on their top three Rudolph Point scoring swims.**

Olympians White Programs

The Olympians White Program, central to our Active for Life Stream, is designed for swimmers aged 13 and older who wish to engage with swimming for fitness, skill development, and lifelong enjoyment. These year-long programs provide a structured yet flexible environment, promoting an active lifestyle and ongoing skill refinement. 

The levels included in the Olympians White Program are:

White 2
Target Age: 13 to 15 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Able to complete a 200 Continuous Choice Swim Under 4:30**
Commitment: Emerging Foundational Level

White 3
Target Age: 15 to 17 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Dive start; Legal 200 IM (Individual Medley) Under 4:00**
Commitment: Emerging Foundational Level

Please Note: Swimmers in Olympians White 2 are not eligible for competition. White 3 swimmers will be invited to local regional level competitions. 

Olympains Red Program

The Olympians Red Program is designed for swimmers seeking advanced fitness, refined technique, and continued participation in the sport. This program promotes lifelong engagement with swimming, fostering skill development, leadership potential (including opportunities for lifeguard, coach, and officials certification), and a sustained passion for the water.

The program included in the Olympians Red is:

Red 6
Target Age: 13 to 17 Years as of March 15, 2026*
Ability: Dive start; Legal 200 IM (Individual Medley) Under 3:20**
Commitment: Emerging Foundational Level

Masters Program

The Masters Program is a vital part of our Active for Life Stream, specifically designed for adults of all ages (18 and older) and varying swimming abilities. This program embodies lifelong participation in swimming, offering flexible training options focused on fitness, technique refinement, and optional competitive opportunities. Whether you're a seasoned swimmer or new to the lanes, our experienced coaches are dedicated to helping you achieve your personal fitness and swimming goals within a supportive community.

At this level, we provide structured workouts that cater to individual needs, promoting physical well-being, continuous skill development, and the enjoyment of swimming for years to come.

The Masters Program includes:

Masters Group
Age: 18 & Older as of March 15, 2026
Ability: Able to complete a 200 Continuous Choice Swim Under 4:30**

Winter Maintenance Program

The Winter Maintenance program is a key offering within our Community Stream, designed to provide targeted training and skill development for swimmers across various ages and abilities. This program runs from the end of September through April and offers an opportunity for individuals to maintain their swimming proficiency, receive remedial training, or simply engage in a structured swimming environment outside of the primary competitive season.

The Winter Maintenance Program includes:

Winter Maintenance Group
Target Age: 8 to 18 Years as of March 15, 2026
Ability: Basic swimming proficiency; ability to swim continuous lengths with fundamental strokes
