RESPECT IN SPORT - FOR PARENTS
The Respect in Sport Parent Program is an essential online training course designed to empower parents in youth sports. This program helps create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for all children participating in activities.
The course emphasizes the significant influence parents have on their child's sports journey, promoting positive behavior, sportsmanship, and effective communication with coaches and officials. It equips parents with tools to recognize and prevent issues like bullying, abuse, harassment, and discrimination (BAHD), ensuring their child's well-being is always a priority.
By fostering a better understanding of everyone's roles in youth sports, this program aims to reduce negative interactions and enhance the overall experience. Many sports organizations, including minor hockey, now require this training for at least one parent per family. Completing the online module (typically 1 hour) helps build a stronger, more supportive community around our young athletes, ensuring their time in sports is fun, safe, and enriching.
